Back at Hinckley now we’re roofed in, we carried out the knock through.

This is always a nerve racking but exciting time, nerve racking because this is when you find out if all of your levels work through but exciting because the customer gets to see the space you’ve created.

We had an odd detail on this where we’ve had to tooth in the brickwork and blockwork in accordance with the engineers’ drawings. The issue being we had to keep the new brickwork level with the existing and new block work level with the new brickwork but the existing blockwork was out.

Took a bit of work but we did it. Also managed to keep the plasterboard in place during the messiest part of the work.

Another job done, installed a steel in accordance with structural engineers drawings to support a chimney and we removed the breast below.

Couple of small repairs for a landlord.

An arch had partially dropped on an old terraced house, only been up 130 years. This was causing some damp ingress.

We raked out the affected area, installed 4 stitching bars to prevent further movement and repointed the area in lime mortar.

There was also a slate missing and a slate that had dropped so we also repaired that while we were there.

Another job in Hinckley is underway.

Foundations and drainage are all done as well as the footings and fully insulated concrete sub-floor.

We are now constructing the shell brickwork.
